# Windows Problems & Tips: A Window app giving this error:

When Windows (I’m doing this on Windows11) gave this error on some apps only:
the application was unable to start correctly (oxcoooo142)
- I’ve tried to give more important or short solutions first and the other later
#### Solution: 1
Just open your command prompt/Run: `cmd` and run these two commands one by one and reboot your pc. Rebooting is necessary.
for %i in (%windir%\system32\*.dll) do regvr32.exe / s%i
for %i in (%windir%\system32\*.ocx) do regsvr32.exe / s%i
#### Solution: 2
Check that the value of this registery key is ‘0’ (reboot necessary after changing the value): Computer\HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit\_DLLs
#### Solution: 3
This DirectX component is needed even by such latest Windows as 11, download and install it from this MS site here: [DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer](https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=35)
#### Solution: 4
Open Windows Features dialouge from ‘Add Remove Programs’ window/dialouge from Control Panel, and check that there are ‘Partial Check boxes’ in front of .Net Framework 3.5 and .Net Framework 4.8 (Partial means neither the boxes are fully empty, nor are full check marked, but have been selected yet).
#### Solution 5:
Check that you’ve chosen correct location (matching with other windows settings) in Control Panel\> Region\> Administrative Settings\> Change System Locale.
#### Last Solution (which cures many other background problems in Windows):
Run Command Prompt as an admin and run this command: `sfc /scannow `
